Christmas 2014 - Mesa AZ
Christmas in the desert
Well our ‘house’ is decorated for the holidays - very understated and subdued compared to our neighbors, but enough for us.
We’ve had a good time meeting with Dave & Toni and Dan & Tina at a couple of restaurants. We all met at the Sugar Bowl for ice cream one afternoon - - it was Dan & Tina’s first time to enjoy one of our favorite haunts. Another morning we all met at Biscuits for breakfast - - what was one of our go-to places for breakfasts has really taken a tumble, horrible tactics (charging 20% gratuity because there were 6 of us) and was DIRTY the day we were there. Needless to say, we can not now recommend them. We will see both couples after the Holidays as they both fly to see family.
Other than that we have been meeting new physicians, getting tests run, etc. and adjusting to living in a ‘house’ again. It was great to get a chance to see Dave’s brother Bob and Jen this past week - - they were in Fountain Hills staying with her grandkids while the parents had a getaway. The 75° weather helped convince them that this area is a great place to spend the winter - especially when the Pacific NW was getting pounded with rain/winds/snow at the same time!
Hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday Season and great adventures in the New Year.
