Happy New Year
Kokopelli now sits out front of our winter home welcoming everyone with a sense of whimsy and music.
Another figure welcoming everyone to our winter abode is this Gila Monster, another desert inhabitant who likes warm weather - - which he isn’t finding this week as a West Coast storm is dropping temperatures to near freezing and is forecast to bring rain for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
Here are both of the new figures sitting in our front yard.
We picked these up a couple of weeks ago at the Mesa Market Place and were surprised at how really quiet the marketplace was - - of course that was before all of the schools let out for the holidays.
We got some wonderful gifts from our families and hope they feel the same way about our gifts to them. We had a very quiet Christmas - the park is very quiet as a lot of people flew back to see families for the holidays but already we are seeing new rigs pull in as the major ‘snowbird’ flights arrive every day from all over the country.
We did so enjoy watching the Seattle Seahawks defeat the Arizona Cardinals - - the local press ahead of time was trying so hard to generate enthusiasm and confidence in the Phoenix area only to have it dashed as the game went on.
We look forward to more of our friends returning for the winter and the temperatures rebounding a little so that the furnace doesn’t have to come on during the night.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and is looking forward to a rewarding New Year.
