We accomplished one of our to-do list items - replacing the old CRT TV in the front with a flat screen HD LCD TV. Actually it is Megan and Kenneth’s fault because they had extra TVs (they collect technology) and said if we could make them fit, we could have them. So the small 19” one fits in the bedroom and we found a mount (or so we thought) for the 32” one for the front. We thought...... famous last words. We got the mount set up and found that no matter how we tried, there was no way to attach the TV and have it not hit the ceiling. So we bought a new 26” HD LCD TV!
Here’s the old front set up:
And the new one (Vizio) that fits nicely, slides in and out and the doors can be opened:
The holder (from MorRyde) is made to “lock” the TV into the travel position and is very sturdy. It was easy to screw it into the bottom of the cabinet - we now have a big empty space behind the TV that we will be experimenting with in terms of placing the Direct TV receiver or DVD player, etc. Dave did have to cut a small notch in the wood surrounding the opening for the level that allows us to “unlock” and move the TV in and out. For a couple of days you could barely move in our living room for all the TVs on the floor plus tools - I mean we even had the BIG tool box out!
So our time in Dallas came to an end and we once again pointed the nose of Figment 2 west and head towards warmer weather for the winter.
